Original title : A l’enterrement de Lilith
LILITH’S FUNERAL
1 Well, of course they say she was superb,
She had everything that it takes.
Yes, she could have been a brand new Verb,
The daughter that a new god makes.
So appealing were her lovely smiles,
Radiating love for miles and miles,
That we couldn't help but follow her,
That we couldn't help but serve her.
With outspreading wings her body was fit,
Then it was she flew away,
Then it was she passed away.
Chorus On the day when Lilith was buried deep,
No, I didn't weep.
2 They said she had many daughter,
Of whom she was not the mother.
The more her family grew bigger,
Then the fewer children there were.
As a vacuum riles Mother Nature,
’Twas filled with kids from everywhere.
And when the grew up strong and solid,
That was when she sat up worried.
True, she did her best to call them « Brothers »,
But, alas, they only scorned her.
Her hard she tried to offer,
But they just roared with laughter.
To the chorus.
3 Oh, they thought she was invicible,
Quite impossible to defeat.
And she waged wars so terrible,
The whole world trembled at her feet.
But jealous women were full of hate
And wanted to retaliate.
’Cos as she was loved by all men
’Twas for themselves they had to fend.
The one who did it was a lone dreamer
Living in the final tower.
This girl was called Fatima,
She was the one who killed her.
To the chorus and end.
